Foundations & Core Concepts
Shark Academy is a student-led math competition community initiated by SMIC students, dedicated to helping Grades 4–8 students explore competition mathematics in a collaborative and supportive environment. Through high-quality video solutions, structured topic breakdowns, study groups, and both online and in-person mentorship, Shark Academy introduces students to contests such as AMC, Mathleague, Kangaroo Math Competition, Johns Hopkins Math Tournament, and Penn Math Contest. We believe in learning through challenge — encouraging students to think creatively, solve problems collaboratively, and build both confidence and a genuine interest in mathematics through real competition experience.
