Think Sharper. Solve Smarter.

MOTTO:
More Than Numbers — Growing Through Challenge, Responsibility, and Community

Shark Academy is a student-led math competition community initiated by SMIC students, dedicated to helping Grades 4–8 students explore competition mathematics in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Through video walkthroughs, mentorship, study groups, and competition discussions, Shark Academy introduces students to contests such as AMC, Mathleague, Kangaroo Math Competition, Johns Hopkins Math Tournament, and Penn Math Contest.

We believe mathematics is more than getting the right answer. Through challenge, discussion, mentorship, and teamwork, students learn to think independently, take responsibility, support one another, and grow with confidence.

🌱 Why Shark Academy?

🌱 Why Shark Academy?

As we grow older, many of us begin to ask deeper questions: Why should we challenge ourselves? What if we cannot solve the problem? Does struggling mean we are failing? At our age, we are often influenced as much by peers as by teachers or parents. Sometimes, seeing someone only one or two years older work through the same challenges feels more relatable and encouraging. At Shark Academy, we hope to build a community where we can learn together, ask questions freely, and understand that getting stuck or making mistakes is a normal part of growth. Through mentorship, discussion, and collaborative problem solving, we learn that confidence is not built by always getting the right answer — it is built by continuing to think, try, and improve together.
